I carried the 8.5" rogue hoe for 8 seasons on fire lines, and it makes easy work for new lines, mop up, Initial attack and many other duties.

Have used a rogue field hoe in our pastures for several years. I have the version with the fiberglass handle. I can leave it in the pick-up bed year round without worrying about the handle deteriorating. It has enough heft to make short work of musk thistles or young trees. I can cut small trees up to 1" with one stroke and larger ones with two or three whacks. A great product.

5.5” blade. 40” curved handle. Thought the handle was too short when I got it. I’m 6’2”. But it’s perfect when using it. The curved handle is old school. Love it. Very comfy in hand. Use it mostly for weeding. I’m a landscaper. Hard to find these type of tools. Great quality product. Thanks.

Have used this tool for years to cut fire line. It is the best tool for the job, with one swipe I’ve cleared half of the line for the rest of the guys, and I don’t need to bump back a saw or bump up a Pulaski. This is such an easy tool to swing for hours on end.

I purchased the Rogue field hoe because I just cleared some land and needed a tool that was sturdy and would hold up better than the chain store type. It has turned out to be one the best investments that I've made. I'm able to cut small trees and vines with ease. I can pull brush into a pile because of the sturdy ash handle.
I may have to but me another one. The Rogue hoe is built for farm and ranch life. Thanks for a Great product. I will be buying more tools from Forestry-Suppliers.

Another fine; very durable rough terrain hoe from Rogue. I use this tool for benching out hiking trails on steep; somewhat rocky slopes with lots of roots. This is definitely the best tool Ive used for this job.

Best digging tool we have in our inventory. Our company owns 12 of these tools and they are durable; long lasting and work well for cutting roots. These get sharpened every couple of days to maintain the cutting edge because sometimes when using for digging in the dirt they also encounter rocks and get dulled. Another thing the crew likes about these tools is the fact that they take a nice sharp edge and keep it for several days before needing to be resharpened.

Hands down one of the best landscape tools around. It is a truly multi use tool. From digging to grading; rip out and weeding; it is also a pretty good pry bar in a pinch. Another great advantage is its near indestructibility. I have purchased many of these over the years and the ones that get replaced are because of sharpening.

Finally; a hoe that can hold up to a tough workload! This hoe has been a savior for field work. The hoe is sturdy; sharp; and gets the job done where typical hoes cannot. The handle is amazingly tough. All around; this is the hoe I needed to take out tough weeds in our soybean fields.

I bought this to chop thistle on our cattle ranch in Central Oregon. I love that its so nicely balanced and the 40 in. length fits perfectly on my 4-wheeler. The 5.5 in. blade is sharp and; due to the weight; I need to use less power to chop through the thistle stem. Im 70 years old and was beating myself up using the cheap; big box store hoes that only lasted a year at most. The quality of this hoe is far superior to any Ive purchased previously and Im pretty sure it should last me a lifetime. LOL.

No more use of flimsy big box store store garden hoes. I plan to use this tool to chop out the weeds; grass and duff from the area near the foundation; after I nuked them with herbicide. I bought the 55F Field Hoe tool after seeing Wranglestars review on Youtube.

Based on other reviews I read; I got the 70HR hoe-rake with 40in hickory handle combination at work and used it to grub out a fireline in hardwood litter and brush. It powers right through small seedlings; saplings; briars; vines; roots; small rocks; and light brush. The tools grubs out heavier stuff than a fire rake or McCleod; and the 7-inch wide head builds line much faster than the grub end of a Pulaski or Mattock. The head is big enough that you could use it to tamp out slow burning fires in light grass. I personally purchased the FB70H flat-head 7in wide Rogue Hoe and the 55F 5.5in Field Hoe w 54in ash handle to try both of them out for fireline construction and trail building. The big one is stronger and wider; but the smaller one with the longer handle is easier on the back when using for an extended time. I bought the Field How after seeing several reviews of it on Youtube. I will take any of these over the old fashioned Hazel Hoe or Grub Hoe with the head that slides off and short handle.

Solid comfortable handle; the trio of sharpened edges make this an ideal tool for trail construction. The size and weight are appropriate. Easy to transport in a pack. Works as an axe with a turned head for chopping out small roots. Scraping soil to contour as well as bench cutting surfaces. If youre limited to a single tool for trail work; this is the one to get. Holds a sharp edge for hours and hours of work. Easily re-sharpened on a grinder.

After reading other reviews I decided to try the Rogue hoes for erosion work. We use them on the Lone Star Hiking Trail that has very little rock, but these cut through roots great and can move dirt easily. They are so sturdy built that they can cut into parts of the trail comprised of packed iron ore. Not an easy task. I got the FB70H with 40" handles. I find them easier to carry than a Pulaski and lighter weight. The price is very reasonable. Tip: I cut pieces of PVC lattice cap(Lowe's) and screwed a bungee cord into cap to make a blade cover.

As an Appalachian Trail maintainer, I'm always on the hunt for that one tool that can do the bulk of our maintaining tasks. Traditionally, that's been the fire rake. But the Rogue Hoe has it beat in a lot of ways. I have the straight blade with a 40" handle and it handles like a dream. It cuts waterbars in seconds, powers its way through stubborn sidehill and cuts tread effortlessly. Be aware, though, it is a bit on the heavy side, so if you're looking for a lightweight tool to backpack into a remote site, this one might not be for you. But it will get the job done!

I've been using the 7" hazel hoe style hoe for the last 2 years on trail work. It's great! The tough steel really keeps it's edge even when working in rocky terrain. The longer larger diameter handle also helps control the tool and make for more accurate swings. The lighter weight is more than made up for by the sharp edge. An added bonus is the solid head that allows the hoe to be used as a tamper. This is the tool to get if you have to do a lot of side hilling, especially in areas with lots of roots and/or rocks like New England. I rarely get to use my hoe on work parties anymore-someone else always grabs it when I put it down!

Used this tool for the first time building mountain bike trail at the Big South Fork NRRA. It's a cross between a pulaski and a MacLoed and cuts great!
